Like a friend once told me "Someday you will know the joys of a custom fitted bicycle."I've always wanted a better bike. But alas, the Moots has taken away this aspiration. As far as I know, no Moots owner has ever been disappointed in their bike. Is there another product on the planet that can thus boast? When I'm with other bikers, this bike, and not the $10k Treks, gets all the attention. I love that it has no paint to get chipped. Its minimalist understated beauty suits me, as does its lack of non-performance related features, like internally-routed cables. You can't demo this bike; they're only built to custom fit. But as my LBS owner said to me, "I will guarantee that if you buy a Moots, you will never be disappointed." He was right. And did I mention comfort. When I first got the bike, I had to laugh when I found myself seeking out bumps and potholes -- I couldn't believe how compliant the ride.I don't race, but I do ride 4k+ miles/year, 25-100 miles 700'-7000' climbing per ride at a 15-19 MPH ave pace.
I have always had great bikes but the Moots surpasses them all. It rides smoother, accelerates qickly, climbs like a dream, and for some unknown reason I go 1 to 2 mph faster on average than I did on custom frames of very comperable geometry.
