Marin’s Muirwoods 29er: one bike to rule the city streets and your local trails. The chromoly mountain bike frame and fork soak up the abuse of curbs, back alleys, and even that dirt trail on the outskirts of town, while giving you a smooth, soulful ride. 29-inch wheels roll fast and tackle obstacles with ease, and the wide Schwalbe tires are perfect for cruising through town. A Shimano Altus and Alivio drivetrain provide the perfect gear, regardless of terrain, while Tektro’s Auriga hydraulic disc brakes ensure solid stopping power in all weather conditions. This urban warrior also features stealth reflective decals to enhance visibility in low-light conditions.

Use it very frequently for short romps in and around Mississauga and Toronto, as well as longer distance road rides (Up to about 10-15 Km). Wide handle bars create excellent control (Heads up for alley-cat riders, obviously). The chromoly steel frame makes for a slightly heavier bike overall, but MUCH smoother ride on the roads. Most rigid fork bikes are very hard on wrists, hands, etc.. on the roads due to the vibration, this is not. 29er wheels turn holes, divits and bumps into jokes. This is the best commuter/urban bike I have had. An absolute blast.
all around great bike for non pro riders. durable, handles great, shifts smoothly. it was stolen recently instead of looking for a car I am looking for another 29er. I loved my pony and dont want to ride anything else.
Super fast and easy to ride. Easy to handle.
This thing is great, it looks mean first off, and it's really light for the price and size. the 29" wheels make everything better. i can ride forever on this thing and i weigh close to 4 bills. It is sturdy. The left crank fell off during a ride, but i think that was more about a hasty assembly than any quality issues with the bike itself. the only thing i would like on it is an adjustable stem so i could cahnge my riding position up a little bit, but beyond that it's a really nice bike!
This is a just a super all-around bike that does many things well. It handles great in traffic situations and is quick to get up to speed after slowing down. It takes on the city curbs with no problems and I'm not afraid to take it off road. On the road it is a fast bike for me. I easily keep up with and pass many other bikes. The only minor complaint that I have is that I really like SRAM components and this has Shimano, but no problems so far. I think I will switch over to SRAM as the bike parts wear out. The chromoly frame is heavier that my previous Giant FCR3, but I wouldn't get as rough with my Giant as I am with my Marin. And the ride is more pleasing than on my Giant since the metal soaks up the bumps. Great for commuting. Overall, this is a good buy for people who want a versatile and fun bike to ride!
