2016 Gravel Riding Clinic

@ Big Shark West

Do you want to try riding gravel but aren't sure exactly what is involved or how to do it? Here's your opportunity to learn! Pedal Hard's own Wendy Davis is the only woman to finish the 200 mile Dirty Kanza gravel race 5 years in a row, and she will be sharing her knowledge of this fun and challenging side of cycling. This clinic is suitable for both new and experienced gravel riders.

The clinic will be held on 2 consecutive Sundays starting at 10 AM.

Indoor Class at Pedal Hard- September 11 - about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Some of the topics covered will be:

  • why ride gravel
  • bike and tire options
  • gear you need
  • climbing and descending on gravel
  • cornering on gravel
  • safety considerations
  • what you need to know before you go

Participants should bring the bike they plan to ride to both sessions of the clinic; moutnain bikes are fine as are bikes specifically designed for gravel riding. We do not recommend the use of a road, time trial or triathlon bike for this event.

Outdoor class at Busch Wildlife- Spetember 18 - about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Participants will meet at the Highway 94 Trailhead.

THE INDOOR CLASS IS A PREREQUISITE FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE OUTDOOR RIDE.

The cost of the clinic is $75 for  both sessions (or $50 for the indoor session only) and is limited to the first 20 riders to register. To sign up contact us at 636/875-4334 or at stltraining@pedalhard.com
